The Paint Department works out of the scene shop, which is shared with scenery and props. Scene Shop is located in a separate building next door to the theatre (about 12’-0” away).   One corner of the shop is setup as an office space for the Scenic Charge Artist.  While the summer does not commonly involve drop painting, it does come up occasionally.  Based on the Hangar’s stage configuration the floor plays a large role in the design and will always be a painted focal point.  Often the paint department works in the evenings to avoid the weather and saw dust.  The paint department is responsible for painting all of the shows each summer, 14 total.
