Audience Services Manager

The Hangar Theatre, a nonprofit professional theatre in Ithaca NY, seeks an Audience Services Manager to join our team. The Hangar is home to the Hangar Theatre Company, which produces a summer subscription series, a children’s and family series, a winter holiday show and innovative theatrically-based programs throughout the year as well as education and training programs for youth and emerging professionals. The Audience Services Manager works closely with Hangar staff and volunteers to maximize the experience of our patrons and to promote audience development and revenue growth through strong customer service and sales activities. The Audience Services Manager responsibilities include recruiting, hiring and training Box Office and Front of House staff, coordinating PROPS usher and volunteer group, managing group sales, and assisting in coordinating fundraising events. Excellent organizational skills required; experience with ticketing databases, sales, performing arts and supervision desired. Seasonal Positions:

House Manager

Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY seeks dynamic and energetic person to oversee front-of-house activities. Duties include insuring comfort/safety of patrons, training ushers, preparing/opening house, supervising lobby, seating latecomers, supervising house management intern, preparing reports. The House Manager is a full time, seasonal position, approximately 35-40 hours per week from mid-June through August. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Box Office Manager

The seasonal position of Box Office Manager  has  duties  in  four  areas: 1) ticket  sales and services  for  all  Hangar Theatre Mainstage and KIDDSTUFF productions, 2) maintaining  the  database and generating reports from the  Easy-Ware ticketing system, 3) ticket sales promotions for Hangar Theatre, and 4) assisting the Audience Services Manager as needed with additional tasks pertaining to the Hangar Box Office operations and patron services. Box Office Staff Position

Successful candidates will be articulate, detail-oriented individuals with initiative, strong customer service skills, and an affinity for multitasking. Ticketing software experience a plus. This seasonal summer position reports to the Audience Services Manager and works closely in assisting the on-duty House Manager. This position also works with the Marketing department on telemarketing and upselling initiatives. Box Office staff are expected to work in tandem to achieve the maintenance and smooth operation of the Hangar Box Office throughout the summer season. Concessions Associate

The Hangar Theatre currently has openings for experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Concessionists. Responsibilities include setting up the concession bar, making coffee, selling snacks, beer and wine to theatre patrons in a timely and courteous fashion, cleaning up the concession area at the end of the shift, and reconciling the cash register.

Ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, and will be able to work independently and with a variety of people. Candidates with prior concessions, hospitality, bar sales or food service experience preferred. A theatre background is not necessary but is considered a plus. Must be at least 18, and able to lift 25 lbs. Front of House Intern(s)

Successful candidates will be articulate, detail-oriented individuals with initiative and strong customer service skills. This seasonal summer position reports to the Audience Services Manager and assists the House Manager and Concession Manager with patron services prior to and during Mainstage and KIDDSTUFF performances. Duties include monitoring cleanliness of all areas open to the public, assisting with concession sales and Special Events, staffing Will Call and Box Office, supervising ushers, etc. Interns will be cross- trained in all areas of Front of House. Opportunities to work and learn from other departments as well as take part in theatre-focused workshops will be provided throughout the summer.
