Hangar for All
The Hangar for All Seasons campaign resulted in a fully renovated and winterized theatre to serve these goals:
- Provide a home for the Hangar Theatre Company, which produces plays in its Mainstage Summer season, a winter holiday show and other theatrically-based programs and performances throughout the year.
- Serve as the performance home for Hangar Theatre Company’s Education programs, including Project 4, an interactive school program for fourth graders throughout Tompkins County that culminates in a performance, Winter and Spring Break-a-Leg experiences during school breaks and Next Generation School of Theatre—a summer long program for students entering grades 1 to 10.
- Provide the community with a new performing arts space while providing the Hangar a new revenue stream. The Hangar can be rented for special occasions, community gatherings and events. We also enjoy a special co-sponsorship relationship with Dan Smalls Presents to bring nationally known talent to our intimate venue.
- Provide emerging performing arts organizations with a professional space in which to perform and produce their work. As the longest established professional theatre in the area, the Hangar is keen to support our vital performing arts community
Community organizations, emerging performing arts groups, partnering theatre companies and others may rent or co-produce with the Hangar. For information, contact Shirley Serotsky at shirley@hangartheatre.org.
