Directing for the Stage

10th Grade-Adult

Lead teacher: Hangar Theatre Associate Artistic Director Shirley Serotsky

No need for professional directing experience. Theatre lovers, arts aficionados, avid audience members, and actors interested in shifting perspectives are all encouraged to register! Students will even have the chance to observe a Virtual Hangar Mainstage rehearsal process.

An introduction to the rehearsal and production process from the director’s point of view. In 5 sessions, the class will provide an overview of the director’s process through text analysis, exercises, and discussion, and include topics like establishing point of view, communicating with designers, and working with actors.
