Spring Break-a-leg

March 26-30

March 26-30, 2018 9 am to 3 pm

1st to 4th Graders:

Bringing back our hit “Page-to-Stage” play creation and performing program for students in grades 1 – 4!
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to create a new play? Do you have a favorite book that you’d like to see come to life? Are you looking for ways to explore your creativity on a real stage in a professional theatre setting?

In this week long program, students will explore what it’s like to use a book to create an original, never before seen play! This program focuses on teamwork, imagination, movement, the power of play, and FUN! By week’s end, participants will have created and staged an exciting original theatre piece to share with friends and family on the Hangar stage!

5th to 8th Graders:

Spring Break-a-Leg is a one-week Devised Theatre workshop for students in grades 5 – 8, offering young artists the opportunity to explore ensemble acting, playwriting, and project creation as they develop a collective myth for the stage…all during spring break! By week’s end, participants will have rehearsed an exciting original piece to share in front of friends and family on the Hangar stage!

Led by professional theatre artists Chloe Treat and Hannah Ezzell who return to Ithaca to share the fruition of this awesome workshop that began during Chloe’s summer at the Hangar as a Drama League Directing Fellow. We’re excited to collaborate with them and YOU!
