Playwright, lover, or…spy? Or, What She Will is a comedy based on the life of Aphra Behn (1640-1689), considered the first professional female playwright.  Desperate to escape a life in 17th century espionage, aspiring playwright Aphra Behn just landed her first chance with a professional company—if she can deliver her play by dawn. But in a world of romance and intrigue, can Aphra save the life of King Charles II and launch her writing career all in one night?  With her muse, Nell Gwynne, interrupting? With echoes of Restoration comedy, the Hangar 2019 summer season starts with this mad, literate romp of formidable wit. Previously produced and published under the title Or,.
