Hangar Theatre Educational Programs aim to:

  • Inspire a lifelong love and appreciation of the arts through meaningful interaction with performance, creation, and artistic expression.
  • Nurture empathetic, thoughtful relationships and interactions between young people by making space for collaboration and communication.
  • Help individuals of all ages express their most authentic and joyful selves through theatre, music, and movement.
  • Support artistic choices that embrace a diversity of perspectives and promote attitudes and actions that encourage more equitable power, access, and treatment for all individuals.


Unique one-week theatre workshops for students in grades 1-4 and 5-8.

Students in grades 1-6 can spend their winter break exploring the world of theatre and storytelling through games, improvisation exercises, movement work, and design projects in a program that emphasizes teamwork, imagination, creative exploration, and confidence building. 

1st through 3rd graders will work together to create a theatrical piece adapted from and inspired by a beloved children’s book. 

4th through 6th graders will work as an ensemble to devise their own, completely original theatrical production. Both pieces will be shared with friends and family at the end of the week on the Hangar Theatre stage!
