Hangar Theatre Educational Programs aim to:

  • Inspire a lifelong love and appreciation of the arts through meaningful interaction with performance, creation, and artistic expression.
  • Nurture empathetic, thoughtful relationships and interactions between young people by making space for collaboration and communication.
  • Help individuals of all ages express their most authentic and joyful selves through theatre, music, and movement.
  • Support artistic choices that embrace a diversity of perspectives and promote attitudes and actions that encourage more equitable power, access, and treatment for all individuals.
  • Next Generation School of Theatre (Summer)

    Hangar Theatre’s Next Generation School of Theatre offers a wide range of fun-filled summer classes that provide students entering grades 1-12 with an unforgettable learning experience in the arts. Read more »
  • Break-a-Leg

    Students can spend their winter and spring breaks as well as summer weeks exploring the world of theatre and storytelling through games, improvisation exercises, movement work, and design projects in a program that emphasizes teamwork, imagination, creative exploration, and confidence building.   • Project 4: Artists in the Schools

    Since 1995, the Hangar’s Project 4 has been bringing teaching artists into fourth-grade classrooms throughout Tompkins County to facilitate the creation and performance of original plays and musicals, based on a topic from the NYS curriculum. Read more »

    We welcome students from around the country who are experiencing at home learning. Please join us–wherever you are! CLASSES FOR YOUNG ARTISTS Daily, Monday through Friday.
